We will learn about the Routes used starting with the Conquest up to our days.

Early in the morning you are driven to the train station to hop on the first transcontinental railroad of the world, today is the Panama Canal Railway Company. The ride takes you through the rain-forest as well as next to the Panama Canal on your way to Colon on the Caribbean side. Then you are driven to see the Modern locks at Agua Clara. Here you can appreciate the new locks and the gigantic vessels transiting them. Also, every hour is a showing of a video presentation which lasts 10 minutes. After, you get back on the vehicle and drive over the recently inaugurated Bridge of the Atlantic on your way to  Fort San Lorenzo  from the time of the Conquest. Located at the mouth of the Chagres River, it guarded a major route that used the river and then had to walk to reach Panama City in the Pacific.  Same route taken by the Pirate Henry Morgan and his men to attack Panama City. But to get to San Lorenzo, you must pass by the former US military base of Fort Sherman. You will enjoy a delicious lunch and a great view at Shelter Bay Marina on the way back before crossing the Canal again over the Atlantic Bridge and continue on your way back to Panama City on the Trans-Isthmian highway.
